Notifications, Spring Bed Rentals and Bed Selection

The following content remains to be affirmed by the ICG Board of Directors but in broad strokes represents a probable portrayal of how the Notification Process and Spring Bed Rental Program will most likely work.

In order to get to Spring…

We will conduct a returning gardeners’ Bed Rental Program in October.

Once that program has closed and we confirm the number of beds we have available, we will contact everyone on our Notification List advising them as to whether we will definitely have a bed available for them in the Spring or whether we will put them on our Spring Waiting List.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The Spring Rental Program will take place in April.
  • Once we have confirmed the ‘actual dates’ for the program we will revise the following table.
  • In any event, you may expect to receive an email from us in the  last week of March or first week of April  to bring you up to speed.

Please pay particular attention to the timeline of the Spring Rental Program.

  • While the program may continue for several days — individually, you will only have 24 hours — from the time your invitation is sent to you — to complete the online form and send in your EFT bed rental payment.

The Inglewood Community Garden Spring Rental Program will proceed as follows:

Two weeks before Rental Program Reminder email sent to everyone on our Notification List
One week before Rental Program Email sent to everyone on our Notification List requesting the completion of a short form confirming continued interest in renting a bed
Rental Program Day 1 Spring Rental Program OPENS at 8:00 AM
Bed Selection Program OPENS at 8:00 AM
All applicants on our Notification List for whom we have beds available will be emailed a link to our online rental form at the date and time above
Everyone who receives an email on this date will have 24 hours to complete the online form and submit the required rental fees by electronic funds transfer
 
The Bed Rental Program will CLOSE as soon as all beds are rented, as follows.
The Bed Selection Program will CLOSE as soon as all beds are selected, as follows.
 
Rental Program Day 2

Bed Rental Program for those on our Waiting List for whom we now have beds continues at 9:00 AM — if required
Everyone who receives an email on this date will have 24 hours to complete the online form and submit the required rental fees by electronic funds transfer
Rental Program Day 3
— if required
Bed Rental Program for those on our Waiting List for whom we now have beds continues at 10:00 AM — if required
Everyone who receives an email on this date will have 24 hours to complete the online form and submit the required rental fees by electronic funds transfer
Rental Program Day 4
— if required
Bed Rental Program for those on our Waiting List for whom we now have beds continues at 11:00 AM — if required
Everyone who receives an email on this date will have 24 hours to complete the online form and submit the required rental fees by electronic funds transfer
Rental Program Day 5 Bed Rental Program CLOSES at 11:00 AM
Bed Selection Program CLOSES at 5:00 PM
Gardeners who have not selected a bed by this date and time will have a bed assigned to them by lottery from available beds
Closure Enquiries regarding either the Bed Renewal, Bed Rental or Bed Selection Programs received after the above date and time will be referred to next Spring’s Rental Program

Any beds not distributed during the Spring Rental Program will be made available to our Community Partners, service organizations or gardeners already renting in the ICG.

*1 Spring Waiting List

We will use the Spring Waiting List in cases where:

  1. over the winter a returning gardener has decided to give up their bed

  2. someone on the Notification or Waiting List does not complete the Spring Rental Program in a timely fashion and thereby gives up their turn
