Youth Central – Pallet Garden
A group of high school students wants to build and maintain a “pallet garden” … why? Here’s why ….
“I’m a youth volunteer in Calgary, and along with a group of other volunteers, was fortunate enough to receive an international grant to create a volunteer project of our choosing. We were hoping to build a pallet garden in support of mental health and, specifically, stress management and relief for Calgarian youth. We hope to transform the garden into a display to encourage activism on social media; it should take up at most 2 meters by 2 meters. We would love to build this garden at the Inglewood Community Association, as it is an important community center that many youths could interact with. If your facility is willing to host this project, we would love to work together to upkeep the display and encourage stress-relieving gardening within the community.”
