Communal Harvest

28 days remain to log Volunteer Hours before the October 13 deadline

As you may well imagine, this evening the Communal Harvest will be focused on:

1. Harvesting as much of what remains of a still substantial crop (!) as makes sense

Fortunately we should have some expert advice available to give us guidance on how much sense that will be!

Here’s a snippet of list to give you some idea of what I thought I understood when I was being told what we were going to be getting up to …

• Broccoli – top and pull
• Tomatillos – check individual fruit and pull
• Kohlrabi – harvest largest
• Beets – harvest as much as half remaining
• Onions – can be harvested, amount to be determined
• Carrots – harvest biggest, but not all
• Leeks – well now, only the biggest to begin with and not a lot!
