DESCRIPTION:42 days remain to log your Volunteer Hours before the October 13 deadline \n\nAs mentioned elsewhere: 42 … to start off with sounds a bit coincidental like … especially if you’ve ever done any hitchhiking through the galaxy but here you are … or there you go … anyway. \nEvery time I get to this part I think it could be simplified … but I have not as yet figured out how to do so without turning it into what sounds like a Beat poem with numbers. \nA Communal Harvest proceeds pretty much as follows … \n1. Particular produce is deemed ready for harvest \n2. Designated produce is harvested \n3. Harvested produce is sorted for the recipients \n4. Produce is weighed and weights recorded \n5. Sorted produce is delivered to recipients \nDetails regarding which of our community partners will be receiving produce and other information will be posted\, usually in the following Monday Update. (Although come to think of it we could easily keep a running tally on the website somewhere. If anyone knew how to do that…) \nThis is a “Leader Led Project”\, which is to say that someone resembling a “responsible party” will be on hand to advise volunteers as to which veggies will be harvested\, how to weigh and record the harvest and answer any other questions the participants may have. \nAny and all harvest help will not only be much appreciated but is guaranteed to add positive value to your karmic account regardless of whether or not you subscribe to such a notion. \n\nPicture time … \nPoetry is the shadow cast…\n\n

DESCRIPTION:38 days remain to log your Volunteer Hours before the October 13 deadline \n\nI’ll be right back … I just have to go copy whatever I wrote for last Saturday’s Work Party and paste it below … \n[… a minute later] \nWell … that’s not going to work (!) because last Saturday’s blurb was for a long weekend and this one ain’t. Shoot … will have to try and make it up from the top. Ok\, here goes. \nFirst of all\, I know for certain that there are mounds of earth to relocate and mounds of earth to sift and pathways aplenty to excavate to add to the aforementioned mounds of earth … and as it happens I can’t think of any way of putting that that makes it any more appealing than it is\, which is\, admittedly\, not very. \nSecond of all\, as you will recall by now that whenever I mention that the CDC has visited us on a Friday I go on to say something like … as a consequence of their visit there is often a deficit of jobs left to do in the garden for some time thanks to the CDC’s unstinting efforts (the “Locusts of Volunteers”\, I have heard them admiringly referred to in reference to their voracious appetites for work) … today will\, in all likelihood\, be similar if not the same to historical examples of their prior visits\, viz. they did more than we expected and so its back to the mounds of earth for the rest of us. \nProvidentially … there may be harvesting that wants doing … that sounds better than everything so far by a long chalk. \nIf any of the foregoing changes in an appreciable manner beforehand … and I remember to … I shall repost this page. \n\nPicture time … \nPunch with No Judy\n
