Beds

Beds in the Garden

Standard Raised Beds

The Inglewood Community Garden (ICG) hosts two distinct types of beds: raised beds, in wooden boxes, and in-ground beds.

The ICG maintains 119 raised beds in the Rental Garden on the north side of the site.

The majority of these beds are available to rent.

In any one season 8 to 10 of our raised beds are donated to our Community Service Organization Partners.

The ICG also maintains 83 in-ground beds, which are planted, tended and harvested cooperatively, in the Communal Garden on the south side of the site: these beds are not for rent.

The ICG conducts Rental Programs in the Autumn and in the Spring: for comprehensive details of these programs please see Rental Programs (for new gardeners) or Renewal Program (for returning gardeners).

I would just like to garden ...

You do not have to rent a bed to be able to garden in the Inglewood Community Garden – you are welcome to volunteer in the ICG’s Communal Garden or in whichever capacity matches your interests and abilities (Please see the Volunteer page for details.)

However, in order to do any gardening or work by yourself in the Inglewood Community Garden there are two things you have to do first:

  1. You must complete and submit the Inglewood Community Garden Liability Waiver – which you can read here Liability Waiver

  2. You must attend in In-person Orientation

Click on this link to read about the In-person Orientation for New Volunteers in the garden.
